SUSTAINABILITY

Meeting a Greener Tomorrow

At Coronet Ridge Resort, we are proud to honour Queenstowns history while embracing modern practices that protect our environment. By blending heritage charm with thoughtful sustainability initiatives, we aim to create a positive impact for our guests, our community, and future generations.

Natural Light First
We design with daylight in mind, making the most of natural light to illuminate rooms, venues, and shared spaces. This reduces our reliance on bright artificial lighting during the day.

Efficient Lighting Systems
Our main lighting system uses LED technology, a step toward reducing overall energy consumption. Only a few dim light bulbs are used to minimise light pollution, and our system automatically powers down unnecessary lights at night—saving energy while maintaining guest comfort.

Responsible Energy Use
We closely monitor our air-conditioning systems through a central control board, ensuring they run only when needed. Our night team also makes routine checks to guarantee that only essential lights and equipment remain on after hours.

Thoughtful Guest Participation
Guests are encouraged to support sustainability through simple practices, such as reusing towels, which helps reduce laundry-related water and energy use.

Accessible Location
Our hotel is in the centre of Arthurs Point, meaning we are easy to access on foot if you are enjoying the area. Likewise, if you are staying with us, leave the car with us and stroll out to the many delightful attractions just around the corner.

Waste Reduction & Recycling
We collaborate with local farmers for our organic waste collection. We ensure recyclables can be recycled through separate of glass and cardboard.

Supporting Local Producers
We are proud to showcase local products where we can, including premium offerings from Ginger Bear Brewing, Fleck, Benjer, and Be Local honey. We also source fresh produce and products from around the Queenstown and Central Otago area.

Our Commitment
We pride ourselves on our commitment to the four pillars of the Tiaki Promise— in particular Kaitiakitanga – meaning guardianship and protection and we take our responsibility seriously, to care for and protect the land, water, and other natural resources for future generations.
